The True State of the Union

Each year, the President gives an address to the people, reporting on the State of the Union, or the condition of our nation. This report has, over time, become yet another campaigning opportunity, and has lost focus. With that said, let me enlighten you to the true state of our union - the one that isn’t reported.
The problems in America consist of only one thing - corruption. The gas prices are rising, inflation is raising costs, and the economy is failing. We went to Iraq “to defend freedom” - and this is all that most people see. As far as inflation and gas prices, the government has no plans, nor will have plans to change this. Inflation is actually viewed as a positive for our government, which is utterly backwards. The lower the prices are, the better our economy is doing, because we are providing surplus goods. The gas prices are rising, because the government has no interest in stopping it, and no interest in alternatives. They get richer and richer as the gas prices rise, and in fact even concocted stories of Iraq’s WMDs to gain public support to invade, driving the gas prices even further. How are they making money from gas prices? Let me elaborate…
The companies that get rich on this industry, commonly referred to as “big oil” have their dark hands in our government. They reach right into the pocket of every member of a political party, and there they deposit untold sums of money with which they can guarantee their next election victory, and uphold the interests of “big oil” in the government. I believe that most people would call this “bribery”, correct? This is the sort of thing that is blatantly held in the light of “corruption” of a government. Why don’t you hear of this, you ask? Because our government has sanctioned this, they are the ones making the money, and they will not do anything to hinder the flow of cash into their hands. They even gave it a special name, “Lobbying”. Let me explain how the presidential election process actually works:
- Groups who have money and want to continue to make money (or make more) send representatives to Washington.
- These representatives donate money to political campaigns, fueling the fire of said campaigns, and increasing the likelihood of the candidate’s rise to power.
- In exchange for those “donations”, the candidate agrees to act in ways condusive to their donor’s interests.
- A group called the “electoral college”, which was established hundreds of years ago because the general population was too ignorant to make a proper decision when voting, votes for the President. This group consists of people who are also making money from the scheme.
- The general populace votes, and has no effect (Bush in fact lost the popular vote to Kerry in 2004, but was still our president).
- The new President thusly begins to act, all in the interests of lobbyist groups. The President is simply an employee of whoever has the most money to donate, he doesn’t serve the people, but big business. The President, while allowed to collect lobbyist dollars, is simply a glorified whore.
And so we plod on in ignorance, seeing the effects of the system. We see the gas prices rise, the inflation spiraling out of control, and our government doing nothing about these things. However, since the mass media is “encouraged” to display things showing our government in a positive light only, most people are kept complacent enough with the system to not stop and connect the dots. Very few politicians would want to end this system, and regardless of whatever promises they may make, their primary concern is to get the seat of power, where money flows to you for four to eight years from various groups in order for you to become their puppet.
I call to you, people of the United States - hear me…
It was said by great men that when a government has lost focus, it is the people’s right and duty to cast off that government. We cannot simply sit idle, as the system cannot fix itself - it’s cancer is deep and self-perpetuating. It is the people’s duty to fix and change the government when it has become corrupt, and that time has come for us.
The last time revolution called for on this soil was in the 1700s, when the colonies were oppressed by Britain, taxed beyond realistic bounds, and forced into an economic hole. The men of these colonies, the 13 states that would start our nation today, assembled to change their fate. These men declared independance from the body that controlled them, and then fought to maintain it. There is nowhere to run, the edges of the map have been filled in. The appendages of the government are so long, extended through technology to reach every inch of the nation. The answer is not as clear as previously - we cannot simply break off from the government. We must educate the populace, take every man, woman, and child, and throw down the current system, to rewrite, and reconstitute our government…
The time has come for revolution.
