George Carlin (1937-2008)

George Carlin, in case you don’t know, has been in the media since the late 50s. He lived for 71 years, and died of a heart attack just yesterday, a Sunday, June 22 of 2008. He was not just a figure of the 20th century, mind you. He evolved and shifted with the times, and reached multiple generations. I, at only the age of 18, admired him for his ability to clarify what happens in our world today. He had a cynical outlook on our species, and he was generally right. He will be sorely missed by me, and many others. In case you haven’t been graced by his views, here are a few examples of his work:
- Religion
- America
And to end, his views on death, fitting considering the circumstances…
- Death
I hope that his messages continue to reach people, and open their eyes to the problems with our country, religions, and traditions. George Carlin was a man with the sight and foresight that can and should inspire us all.
